20th Anniversary of the MNWR

Date: September 19, 2015

Dear Friends and supporters of the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge,

I hope this note finds you well and enjoying the beautiful summer!

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of the Mashpee NWR. This remarkable accomplishment in 1995 was made possible by dedicated individuals envisioning a Refuge encompassing over 6,000 acres. With over 5,800 acres within the Refuge now permanently protected, the Refuge is the second largest accessible open space on Cape Cod. This Refuge has been managed cooperatively throughout these years by a strong group of eight partners and supported by the Friends of the Refuge organization.  The legacy continues to grow and strengthen by these partners who continue to work together and enhance their effectiveness through networking with other conservation organizations and land trusts.

Please join us to celebrate this historic anniversary on September 19th, from 11am to 2pm. We will gather at the Falmouth Rod and Gun Club in East Falmouth to share stories, enjoy a summer BBQ and honor all the hard work and dedication that has assured the Refuge will remain a special place for Cape Codders and visitors for years to come. Please share the attached invitation with your Board of Directors and their guests.
