2026 Wampanoag POH Youth Camp

On Tuesday July 21st, the Friends of MNWR supported the Mashpee Wampanoag “Preserving Our Homelands” (POH) Youth Camp for our 11th consecutive year! This year, we planned and purchased plants, and worked with Tribal youth, counselors and staff to plant a variety of cultural, medicinal and pollinator-friendly plants at the Wampanoag Maushop Farm. Volunteers from the Friends were joined by staff from the Waquoit Bay Reserve, MA DCR Fire and US Fish & Wildlife Service. It was an amazing day of learning about pollinators, planting, fire and prescribed burns, and creating natural crafts. Thanks to all who make this great program possible!
