When you want a transformation, who do you call? AmeriCorps Cape Cod of course!
The Friends of Mashpee NWR along with Mashpee Conservation had a big project of removing endless mugwort and grasses at the Jehu Conservation Area Trailhead. Our AmeriCorps Member Kaycee led the project. Not only did they remove all of that nightmare causing mugwort, but bushes were trimmed and over 70 native pollinator plants were planted.
The plants were selected by Kaycee to bloom throughout the spring-fall to support our pollinators and Monarchs. It was meant to be — call it serendipity — with APCC having their native pollinator plant Sale on Tuesday and the Waquoit Bay Reserve having their pollinator plant give away on Wednesday.
Thank You to Kaycee for her leadership! Thank You to all of the AmeriCorps Members that were there to support this project! We never could have done it without you! Thank You also to our volunteers and we hope to see you at our next project!
