Ancient Horseshoe Crab Native History & Current Regulations

Do you know how to tell the difference between a female and male horseshoe crab? If you find this crab on the beach, do you know if it died or is it just a molt, a shed outer shell? MaryKay Fox of the Friends of Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge will share her knowledge on this ancient yet elusive animal. She has conducted spring time monitoring surveys on these critters in Waquoit Bay for 5 years. She will share pictures in describing their natural history and bring you up to-date on their current uses and regulations. Come learn more about these fascinating creatures that you can share with your grandkids, friends, and visitors as you explore the many Cape beaches.

Event will be held at the Mashpee Senior Center.
