Mashpee Interpretive Nature Tours – Natural Succession at John’s Pond Park

Hike along diverse and special habitats on Cape Cod, such as freshwater pond, river, herring run and cranberry bog habitats at John’s Pond Park Conservation Area. Directions: From the Mashpee Rotary, take Route 151, past Falmouth town line, turn right at Currier Road (just past Country Fairgrounds), then right onto Hooppole Road, past Ashumet Holly Reservation 1.2 miles to stop sign at end of road, then right onto Back Road through Otis Trailer Village to Town Beach parking area.

The Mashpee Conservation Department is continuing its schedule of free Naturalist-guided tours of Mashpee’s unique and diverse conservation areas. Tours last for an average of 1 to 2 hours but may be longer or shorter, depending on the wishes of the participants. All ages are invited and children are encouraged to come. Many nature programs are designed for children and their families. Further information can be obtained from the Mashpee Conservation Department at 539-1400, ext. 8540, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Guide maps for many conservation areas are available at the Conservation Department at the Mashpee Town Hall. Tours may be cancelled in the event of stormy weather.
